MEET HAILEE BERNARD HANDEL

PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT

I struggled tremendously in high school. It was not until I started my freshman year at Western Kentucky University, that I started to be an involved member in my college community. This all started with student affairs and higher education professionals going out of their way to push me to become a greater version of myself. Now almost six years later, I would like to be that person for someone else.

I originally came to college to be a large-scale event planner. This partnered with my love and passion for student engagement and experience in Housing and Residence Life creates the perfect place for me to oversee large scale programming and initiatives from conceptualization to execution.

With my experience in advising and participation in student organizations and student leadership, event planning, and working in professional environments I look forward to the chance of interviewing for future positions in Student Affairs.

I am specifically interested in positions regarding University Operations or functional areas within a housing department, but am open to all experiences and opportunities. I plan to pursue my Doctorate Degree within the next five years and my long term career goal will be to pursue a position in upper administration at an institution, such as a Dean of Students, University Provost, and/or University President or Chancellor.
